Heartland History

We became "hooked" on the breed of American Eskimo Dogs with our first Eskie, Hailey, in 1988
and have since grown to be a seven Eskie family.
We began our breeding program in 2000 with our second Eskie, Abigail. During our adventure in taking Abigail to another breeder to be bred we fell in love with the stud dog, EZ, (who is now nicknamed Sam). We took Abigail to get her bred and came home with "the whole dog". One thing led to another and our Eskie family continued to grow.

We have shown some of our American Eskimo Dogs, however, they are our family members first and foremost.

We have been a foster family for almost twenty years and have experienced, first hand, the intelligence and compassion the American Eskimo Dog possesses. Their insight, perception and empathy have proven to be very therapeutic with our children. They are also a constant source of joy and laughter with their antics and entertaining behaviors.
